Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965, formerly
known as No Child Left Behind (NCLB), offers student attending Needs Improvements (NI)
Supplemental Educational Services (SES).
Priority will be given to low-income status students (eligible to receive free or reduced
priced meals) and for students not meeting standards on state assessments (Math or
English/Language Arts sections of the Criterion Referenced Competency Test, End of
Course Test, or Georgia High School Graduation Test). If funding levels allow, other
students attending Needs Improvement Schools may participate.
SES is free additional academic instruction
(tutoring) provided outside the regular school day. The tutoring is
provided by state approved service providers. Tutoring services may take
place at the Service Provider's location, in the student's home or other
location.
